Sunday Stuffs - Beard Papa Coming to Convoy and Sushi Yorimichi 2 Coming to Linda Vista

Here are two places coming soon that I've noticed while driving around.

Sushi Yorimichi 2 Coming to Linda Vista:

While driving up Linda Vista Road I noticed an ABC Application of Ownership Change posted at the former location of White Rice Morena, so I took a turn into the parking lot and JJ and I walked on over.

And this one was a surprise to me.

It looks like Sushi Yorimichi is doing quite well....well enough to open a second location!

Good for them! I hope they do well and am waiting to hear what "FOY" Junichi has got to say about this!

Beard Papa Coming to Convoy:

While taking the turn at Balboa and Convoy I saw another sign in the newish strip mall on the corner. So I drove on into the parking lot.

And yes...it was indeed.....

I had to laugh......like two decades later, we're getting a Beard Papa's in this area? Sheesh...back in 2008 I visited the now defunct location at Plaza Bonita. And I know there was a location in La Jolla that closed last year. 

I'm thinking that this is probably where they should have opened years ago. Of course they chose a strip mall with like a dozen parking spaces for customers where Origami Handroll x Kushiyaki Bar is opening.

Not sure if BP's is even suited for Convoy these days; I'm thinking that Westfield UTC would probably be a better location, but we'll see.

I’m glad Sushi Yorimichi is doing well and opening up a new location but I’ve always found their sushi kinda average. Some of their specialty rolls are really big but the Orange Crush roll was way too tart. They have decent Happy Hour specials and they are super close to me but really the price is what brings me back.

Beard Papa, I like them. I do agree that spot is probably not the best spot, especially with a hand roll bar opening up and the small number or parking spaces. I recognized the area just from photo, it was in the same strip mall where the Sqaure Bar was. I liked them

Not a big fan of the sushi (not the ramen) at Yorimichi either Denver. But we do enjoy some of their smaller, "izakaya-ish" dishes that are a good value.

You almost have to salute Bearded Papa - they've very average and they clearly aren't having success in San diego but darn it if they're not going to try. You have to admire that in an extent, and wish you had access to that much money lol

Glad to see Yorimichi doing well. Whenever I walk by there's usually people waiting outside. Their food is average but the prices are low enough to attract a decent following.

Beard Papa finally came to his senses and chose Convoy this time around. Although that's a tough strip mall.
