Envy.

Peter

Have fun -- it's been way too long since my wife and I have made that hike to the top of Diamond Head. Gotta get over there sooner than later...

kat

yeah :) enjoy!

Kirk

It's actually Ewa Beach Chris! Hope you get to visit soon!

Hope you get a chance soon Peter! I hadn't been back up there in over 30 years!

Thanks Kat!

Denver

Ah nice! Enjoy!

I should just give in and just book my ticket to Hawaii. I’ve had enough Poke lately to fit in 😂

Mar

Enjoy your time home! Try get some lau lau while you're there! :-)

Kirk

Now you just gotta learn some pidgin Denver! ;o)

Guess what we had for lunch today Mar! ;o)

James

We just back (we stay town but my folks live in Kaneohe)! No trip is complete without stops at childhood faves Kim Chee II, Masa and Joyce, Times Coffee Shop and Leonard's, but Nico's and Side Street are more recent additions and Nami Kaze is the newest. Too many places, not enough time! *shaka*

Kirk

We mostly stayed in Ewa Beach James. Used to go to Side Street a lot when I lived here. Leonard's is crazy these days! Agree that there's not enough time to hit all the faves! Glad you had a fun trip!

Kerri K

Enjoy! Thereʻs never enough time to do everything.

Kirk

So true Kerri! Great to hear from you and hope all is well.

Soo

Nice vacation. I love getting Dole Whip.

Kirk

A lot of folks like Dole Whip Soo.

Alan

Nice trip. We go home again in October for a week. Not doing anything but paying our respects at the cemetaries, and eating like pigs. Not many relatives left living in Hawaii so we don't have many people to visit.

Kirk

Sounds like a great trip Alan! I'd like to spend much more time in town if I could....

John Ikeda

Nice seeing you back home on Oahu. Sad so many places gone from the 80's, 90's & '00's, but that's showing our age & restaurant business in 2024 Hawaii is hard with inflation & owners getting old. Hope you saw old places still around (8 Fat Fat 8?) and the fun & food is still there. Vanishing Hawaii becomes fond memories and nostalgia.
I've been looking at Cookbooks and you should e-publish your recipes. Great collection and stories behind them. I enjoy reading your blog & continue the great adventures & eating.

Kirk

Thanks for the kind words John! Man, just driving up King Street in Moiliili had me missing Ebisu, Suehiro, McCully Chop Suey...on Waialae it was Aotani Fountain, Tanoue's.......was sad when I read LikeLike Drive In Closed. Talk about getting old.....
