Yes, we're on yet another trip. It was time to head on "home".
This time around, instead of visiting the neighbor islands, the Missus wondered if we could do some more touristy "stuffs". At first, I wasn't too keen on doing that, but after giving it some thought I realized that the places that came up I hadn't been to in ages, like in 2-3 decades or more. So why not?
And it has turned out to be fun.
We even stayed in town for a couple of nights.
And of course, this being the Missus we have gone on a couple of "hikes", of which were kind of "walks" as defined by the Missus.
The longer I'm away, the more I appreciate where I'm from.
And of course, we've been checking out some old favorite places as well.
And we've been eating well.
Hitting up some old favorites.
And even what you might consider an "old school" favorite.
And we made time to visit a couple of "new" places.
I really don't want to be "drag-gin" this out......
So, I'll leave it at that. We've got a couple of days left before heading home. Hoping to hit up a few other places and then hopefully catch up on my huge backlog of travel posts when I return!
Until then, the blog remains in the capable (and busy) hands of Cathy.
Thanks for stopping by!
Is first pic of Nanakuli?

Have fun -- it's been way too long since my wife and I have made that hike to the top of Diamond Head. Gotta get over there sooner than later...

I should just give in and just book my ticket to Hawaii. I’ve had enough Poke lately to fit in 😂

We just back (we stay town but my folks live in Kaneohe)! No trip is complete without stops at childhood faves Kim Chee II, Masa and Joyce, Times Coffee Shop and Leonard's, but Nico's and Side Street are more recent additions and Nami Kaze is the newest. Too many places, not enough time! *shaka*

We mostly stayed in Ewa Beach James. Used to go to Side Street a lot when I lived here. Leonard's is crazy these days! Agree that there's not enough time to hit all the faves! Glad you had a fun trip!

Nice trip. We go home again in October for a week. Not doing anything but paying our respects at the cemetaries, and eating like pigs. Not many relatives left living in Hawaii so we don't have many people to visit.

Sounds like a great trip Alan! I'd like to spend much more time in town if I could....

Nice seeing you back home on Oahu. Sad so many places gone from the 80's, 90's & '00's, but that's showing our age & restaurant business in 2024 Hawaii is hard with inflation & owners getting old. Hope you saw old places still around (8 Fat Fat 8?) and the fun & food is still there. Vanishing Hawaii becomes fond memories and nostalgia.
I've been looking at Cookbooks and you should e-publish your recipes. Great collection and stories behind them. I enjoy reading your blog & continue the great adventures & eating.
