have a good week!

When I went to Trining's bakery to pick up a buko pie (not like what I get in the Philippines but it's still pretty good!) I thought Paris Sandwiches was open too.
I was never a fan of SVD but they have been there forever..that's too bad.
Da Kines...I think I found your blog way back when I was keeping an eye on all local-kine restaurants. They are the OG of plate lunches in San Diego. Nelson just keeps on keeping on!

I haven't been to Da Kines in forever, but I remember they were "the" place for catering. I didn't even notice the Paris Sandwiches sign when I drove by last week! Sau Voi Deli was ok, but it was convenient for getting a banh mi while shopping at 99 Ranch Market.

You too Kat!

Yes, Nelson just keeps on going Jack! Be interesting to check out Paris Sandwiches when they open.

SVD did fill the Banh Mi niche in 99 Ranch Market Sandy. Not a fan either, but they were there for so long.....

We had our first Bahn Mi from SVD (the price was $1.75 and it was wonderful). We had stopped in many times for a bite before or after shopping at 99Ranch; always thought it would just be there.

I was surprised to see that SVD had closed Cathy. It was indeed a convenient stop when shopping at 99 Ranch Market.

Wow, Sau Voi closed? It had been there for decades. That really feels like the end of an era.

Yes, I was quite surprised to see that Sau Voi had closed Jessica! And I agree; it does feel like the end of an era!
