mmm-yoso!!! is being written by Cathy today; Kirk is unavailable.
Originally, I wrote about The OPH in 2009 then again in 2013 and once more in 2015. It's time to share another breakfast.
Going early is smart; the line can get long and some tables have been removed to be socially distanced. The menu choices are the same, as are the heavyweight silverware, real half and half for coffee ($3.55, kept constantly filled) and even condiments on the tables.
Diced honey-maple ham and eggs with pancakes as the side ($13.25). It's a good ham (and there's plenty) mixed in with the fluffy, soft scramble of eggs. The pancake batter here is unique and the cakes are always prepared properly, having a light-crisp exterior and cake soft interior with a slight buttermilk 'twang' of flavor, if you don't overpower with syrup or whipped butter.
Banana nut pancakes ($13.75) are sometimes all you need. There are smaller pieces of pecans and diced banana inside each buttermilk pancake. The banana slices are just the right amount of sweet needed for each bite.
Another memorable breakfast, able to be enjoyed indoors.

A legend in the community and one of my dad's favorite places to go on earth. I love their omelets (although Poway has even better ones), their 49er flapjacks and they do have some of the best meats especially bacon out there. Go on Sat/Sun at your own risk based on the line.

Looks terrific. You guys know how to do breakfast!

Absolutely adored their apple pancake with real whipped cream, but haven't been since Covid. No sign of outside dining :(

It was, Kat!
The first time we went, it was because of my parents, Loren; they know good places. Will try an omelet next time; the meats here are unique and excellent-breakfast sausage patty is a proprietary blend. We do try to get to places when they first open to avoid waits.
We do seem to go out for breakfast the most, Amanda.
Real whipped cream, real half and half, it's all so special here, Cathy G. There had been an outside setup in July and the interior has fewer tables than BC (Before Covid). I suppose that's another reason we go to places when they first open.

I used to work near here and my colleagues were fans of breakfast for lunch. It was a nice chance for me to try some breakfast foods since I'm not known to get out of bed to eat at any 'a.m.' time. I'll never forget some 13-egg omelette they brought me that was the size of a small country.

Oh my! What a great memory, Joy. Over the years, breakfast items have become regular meals for us, because savory counts.
