kat

the sandwiches looked great except for the bread that got soggy.

Kirk

They were quite good Kat! Even better than my previous visits.

Lynnea Fleming

Wait, explain the picture of the little round creature at the end of your post :'D what is that thing? Also, that A la Mexicana looks incredibly delicious!!

Kirk

Maybe it's a "Barrio Donas" Lynnea???? ;o)

alnc

I have noticed the change with the bread, also, which is too bad because I really loved those bolillos. Good food, though.

Kirk

Yes, the current rolls while nice and yeasty don't have quite nice of a texture and doesn't hold up as well as the bolillos they used to use did alnc! Good to know I'm not quite going senile yet! Hope all is well!

caninecologne

Oh no, Mr. Bill?

Kirk

More like "Mister Donas" CC! ;o) Looks kinda creepy though, huh?

Sandy

According to Eater, Barrio Donas is opening a store in National City. Glad they're doing well enough to expand. Still need to try them.

Kirk

Yes, I saw that Sandy. I guess they are doing quite well.

Mary Lou

I haven't had a Torta in at least 35 years.
It's time. My Comadre and I a re going in tomorrow, Sunday 3/10/2024 in the morning.
I'm hoping to be surprised. Been wanting to go to this National City location.
I will follow up in the evening in letting you all know how it all went.
Hope I have great NEWS for all of you.

Kirk

Hi Mary Lou - Welcome and thanks for commenting! I don't know if the National City location of Barrio Donas has opened yet!
