kat

at least the pizza was good :)

Junichi

Kappo usually means higher end small plates and multi-course meals in Japan. Wonder what their interpretation is going to be. Most likely ramen and bento boxes...... Spam is underrated in my opinion. It's awesome they made you that pizza. Don't knock it til you try it.

Kirk

Yes, it was Kat!

I know Junichi; folks were surprised at how good it was. We'll see what kind of "elevated" fare Jun's makes......I have my doubts.

Actually, it was I who brought your blog to Noel's attention. :) I've been reading your blog for about 10 years now (I think?) and weirdly, I met Noel a day or two after you posted about meeting him. I put two and two together after learning that he worked at Bay Park Coffee and did Taiko (which was the reason I met him in the first place). Anyway, I had to share it with him!

Kirk

That's too funny Kim! Thanks so much for reading our little blog! And finally commenting.

"Okay......I'm not sure why I feel kind of disappointed......" --K

Me too, because sushi joints tend to go like these poke places--disappointing. I'm going to cross fingers and hope that this isn't the case and like you, give them a try or two.

p.s. Your loyalty to Spam is both admirable and puzzling at the same time. Must be that Hawaiian gene.

The world would be a better place with more spam ^_^ And I wish we were getting an Izakaya - I'd love to have something like Taisho this close to home.

Kirk

I'm crossing my finger too Alnc! And the Spam loyalty is truly a Hawaii thing.....

I agree Derek! ;o) Kappo cuisine is supposed to be elevated Izakaya food - I have my doubts that Jun's will be doing that; though I'd love to be proven wrong.

Derek R

Crossing my fingers but not holding my breath!

Also - just heard that there's a soft opening Thursday at 5pm for Chef Jun. I won't be going but I may stop by to get a picture of the menu.

Kirk

If you're able to check out the menu; let me know what you think Derek!
