what a nice assortment of foods! the somali pancakes sound delicious.

Wow - that's crazy. I used to work at UPAC and it's pretty amazing to see that they have a Cafe set up. Thanks for sharing =)

The choices here can satisfy anyone walking in, Kat. The injera have a slight fermented flavor (that's why so spongy) and it's kind of perfect with the sesame and sugar flavors. I'm planning on trying the Ugandan "Rolex" breakfast- on a chapati, which I'm fairly sure will be fresh made when ordered.

Small world, Derek! It looks like this is the only UPAC Cafe in the county, which I hope will be the first of many. Not just neighborhood and instruction, but real quality.

That's awesome that UPAC has a cafe. Looking forward to trying this place during my summer break. As for injera, I've never had it with sugar on top...I wonder if it can be served without it. Was it meant to be dessert like?

With the hours open, it does limit the time of visiting for you and Bert, cc. Worth the trip: the food here is great. I'm thinking the injera with sesame oil and sugar is akin to butter and jam, since it is on the Breakfast was really good and went with the hot tea.
