Masa's ramen is decent for an izakaya. Even after the expansion they're still super busy. I miss their shrimp gyoza. Each piece had a whole shrimp with its tail sticking out. Also the yamaimo steak.

They sure are busy Junichi! For some reason; my tastebuds pick up an rather unpleasant metallic component when I've had the broth from Masa's ramen.

Seems like a long wait to get fried chicken. Bummer the ramen isn't that good.

I haven't tried it yet, but I've driven by Tanuki in Kensington and have been intrigued. Izakaya and sushi. May be worth a try.

hit or miss :(

I'm thinking a lot of the folks aren't waitin for the fried chicken Soo.

I'd pass on the sushi there Christina...nice sake collection.

Totally Kat!

I love how cozy the place is but hate what the lines have become. There's plenty of dishes I enjoy but they don't justify waiting 1 - 1.5 hours. I have had some decent ramen from there lately though last time I had the katsu curry my katsu was cold in the middle and curry was lukewarm...

Hi Derek - Masa sure is popular. Just goes to show that this type of place really is in demand.
