Soo

I love visiting for chicken pie, chicken livers and the fruit pies too! http://www.hungryones.com/2016/05/san-diego-chicken-pie-shop/
I started visiting back when they were in Hillcrest. :-)

wow that's a long time for a restaurant! i never seem to crave chicken pot pie but we did sample their food during a Bite San Diego tour. not my favorite style of savory pie but still a nice comforting and affordable bite!

I remember when this place was in Hillcrest on 5th. One of these days I'll have to go here with Bert and TC. Their fruit pies look so good (crust for me please).

I realize that I tend to order a lot of 'basics' lately, Soo; just having familiar food is a comfort. When I first went to the Chicken Pie Shop, it was also the Hillcrest location...and the Pie Dinner was $3.10. Thanks for reminding me about your post; it's linked now.

I like the fact there there are no 'filler' vegetables-just meat, gravy and a great crust, Lynn. The diner atmosphere and food here is more familiar; probably why we return.

Yes, the current Starbucks location, cc. You should try it...you can even get a chicken pot pie breakfast (my 2016 post). A slice of pie and a cup of coffee will hit the spot if you don't want a meal.

The pies look delicious!

I've probably had a slice of every flavor over all these years, Kat; each bite has been so good, especially the crusts. (The pot pie is great, too)
