Man that katsu looks bad.

Soo @ hungryones

I like the kalbi and fried rice at Island Style.

ISC was not bad Kat!

It was Junichi.

I like the fried rice at ISC Soo.

Hard rice and crumbly batter = :(

Not good eats CC!

I also like the loco moco at Island Style but can't stand the tuna they put in their mac salad... kinda ruins the experience for me.

Speaking of... do you have a recipe for potato mac salad? I've tried several online but haven't found the "right" one. My favorite version locally is probably Mo's/Homestyle Hawaiian's.

Hi Derek - I haven't made mac salad in years....mainly because I won't be able to finish it all....or even worse; I might be able to finish it all. When we used to do potlucks "back home", I did a version that used shredded carrots and chopped bacon that folks liked. I don't recall having had the potato-mac salad at ISC in ages..... Homestyle Hawaiian makes a decent version; though I've had it where it's almost warm....

I gave you a shoutout about this place on my blog today.

Thanks for the mention Soo!
