Jason

Looks good, did you find out why it vanished in the first place?

Ed (from Yuma)

At the time it disappeared, Jason, I wrote, "One of the few cases of a restaurant doomed by its success. At least as I have heard it, the landlord was getting complaints from the towing/repair shop next door that there was no place to park during the day because the pupuseria had too many customers. Lucia was not allowed to be open weekdays, and then on Nov. 1, the restaurant was empty with no sign about another location etc."

I think I heard that she had relocated back to Hawthorne CA. Based on some signage inside the new location, it appears that she was running a fast food/snack food pupuseria called Mama Lucy's. I haven't had a chance to talk to her about any of that because she was busy, but it makes sense. Perhaps she returned because Yuma offered her an opportunity to cook a full range of dishes - but that is purely speculation on my part.

We'll have to stop in there. That tamale looks superb and the chicken and rice dish looked delicious, as well. Nice post. From the heart. 💕

Soo @ hungryones

Congrats. She's alive!

Yes, Joanie, well worth a stop.

Soo, she is very much alive.

Learned some more today. Lucia owns that bldg. In addition to good AC, there's a huge exhaust fan over the grill, so she's now up to date, and it really is her kitchen.

Had sopa de pata for dinner. Just perfect. Tendon still like the flesh of angels incarnate. Tripe, weird veggies, broth oh so good. Reminded me how soups get better as it gets later in the day.
