Too bad Jin's Pot couldn't make it. I drove by the other day and saw this sign:
I know that asking for a good Yang Rou Pao Mo or Rou Jia Mo might be stretching it. But one can always dream.

Here's some other odds and ends. I'd always wondered what was going to take the place of Lucky Star. On a recent visit to Northgate Market the question was answered.
Apparently, it's become a banquet space.
I'm a little bit late on this one, but a favorite of some folks I know closed at the end of the year. I nevre posted on the Hungry Stick, though I'd been there a few times.
I heard it's being turned into a Dentist Office.

That's it for today. Hope you're having a great weekend!
Passed by that new Crystal Palace the other day...fondly remember it being Furrs Cafeteria.

Hi Cathy - Man, that's before our time in San Diego.....when was that?

The shuttered remains of an old Furr's cafeteria still stands in front of the old K-Mart (not sure what it is now) on 3rd Ave in west Chula Vista.

The Mister was stationed here for less than six months in late1980/81 and we lived near El Cajon Blvd and College Avenue during that time. We were adventurous eaters, trying many places in the neighborhoods, but Furrs was easy when we couldn't decide...everything was always fresh. I still like cafeteria style.

hi Kirk, the other new place that's opening is the old Ba Ren location. so, it's changed twice now since the closing? never did make it to the cowboy & beer place. let's hope the new one will have good food. hard to top Ba Ren, though.
