Yeah, I've noticed Yamadaya slowing trending downwards as well... especially with the service. The broth doesn't seem as unctuous as before and we've had forgotten orders and spotty attention as well. It's too bad, it seems like they are getting too comfy with their popularity.

Funny, I attempted to make hakata ramen and the wife approved. Lucky we have a little Japanese shop that sell fresh ramen "frozen" even if my broth was bad the noodles made up for it. The pictures looks great.

Kirk

I agree Jason. There doesn't seem to be anyone running the place and the standards seem to have gone down.

That's great Billy!

Yamada's service drives me crazy so I haven't been there in a long time. Glad to know it wasn't just me!

Haven't been to Santouka in a long time, I like their setto too. It's a bit chilly over here too, gets me in the mood for ramen. Haven't had shio ramen in a very long time, now I'm craving it

Kirk

Hey Jack - It was pretty dismal service.....

Hi FH - It's time for some shio ramen then!

kat

glad the ramen didn't disappoint!

Kirk

I'm glad too Kat!

I was at Yamadaya's downtown location on Friday and it was good from both the culinary and service perspectives. Perhaps the effort put into that place (and getting it open) was taking a toll on the Clairemont Mesa Blvd location.

Kirk

Hi Michael - I was there about a month ago while on Jury Duty:

I did think it was better than what I'd had during my last two visits to the Clairemont location.
