I've been wanting to try that rabbit mixiote for the longest time. thanks for the preview. i have never seen or heard of papalo before; very cool to learn of something new. I'm usually deterred by the long lines but it helps to go super early.

Happy eating.

Cathy

Rabbit has a different flavor than lamb, and the spices and way of cooking make it even more unique, cc. Papalo grows in high heat areas like Arizona and Mexico (and probably in my own backyard; I have some seeds). Yes, early everywhere is best to avoid crowds.
Thanks, Bill. I have a lot to share.

Never got the flan there, before. Must fix that...

Cathy

Yes, you should, TOG. Trying the entire menu should be a goal.

I think this would be the place I'd like to visit if I want to try lamb again. Do you prefer Northgate over Vallarta Market? I went to Vallarta in National City the other week thinking it was Northgate for some reason. I would love to try that 'minty cilantro' herb!

Cathy

I grew up eating lamb, Faye, so the flavor is familiar (although mom would serve it with mint jelly and potatoes) and I also get lamb kabobs when those are on a menu. If I had to choose, I like Vallarta a bit better, primarily because of their 'Food Court' area, but I do shop at Northgate, Pancho Villa and Carnival.
