Oh. my. god. Deep fried chicken skin? YUM OH YUM. My little, deep fried Filipino heart just exploded with happiness. And cholesterol. ;) Nothing a few (hundred, perhaps) hours of exercise can't cure.

Darwin

Stop by Conching's after 9 or 10PM Friday or Saturday for some pretty good Filipino BBQ and hangover food. They have some crazy yellow rice that is just super addicting.

Food Coma 911

mMmm...loooks yummy! Not too sure about the corn and cheese though hah

The Food Detective

I'm so jealous. I haven't had sisig for a long time. I was going to order that for the wedding but only you and I would appreciate it. I'll wait until Mr.C's bday. haha.

Never had fried chicken skin there. That must be a new item?

ed (from Yuma)

Oh man, that looks good.

On a related note, I've noticed that all my belts magically get smaller right around Christmas day.

caninecologne

hi kirk - hell yeah, fried chicken skin! that used to be a buffet item at the old Manila-Tokyo restaurant.

Nate

Oh boy...deep fried chicken skin!!!

Funk Man

Hey Dude:

Did you get the gig??????

sherry

Unusual ice cream, but definitely appealing. I want to try corn and cheese cream now! And the chicken skin is the best part ... Happy New Year!

Kirk

Hi Michelle - LOL! I'll be needing to burn off quite a few colories after this.

Hi Darwin - Actually, the only thing I've really enjoyed at Conching is the Sisig. I've had the BBQ, which I thought was just ok....of course that was years ago.

Hi FC911 - The ice cream was pretty good. I'm sure you'd like it.

Hi TFD - I believe that you and I would have been to the task though! This was the first time I've seen the chicken skin here....

Hi Ed - I just stop wearing them period! ;o)

Hi CC - I think that was the first place I had that as well. I heard that "Tita" has bought the old Manila Tokyo property.

Hi Nate - Few things in life better!

Hi FM - I'm not sure what you're referring to??

Hi Sherry - I think you'll like it! I believe that Magnolia makes a version of Corn and Cheese ice cream....so you might find it at your local Filipino Market.

Funk Man

Hey Kirk, the Reader, dude!!!!!!!

Kirk

Hey FM - I'm sure you'll find out shortly! ;o)

Funk Man

Understood! What is your going to be your "beat"?

janfrederick

Speaking of fried chicken skin and salad, I think I'll be featuring it in my next chinese chicken salad. Mmmmm!

Kirk

Hi Jan - Now that's going to be one heck of a salad!

Jenne

I literally cannot wait until I can try some corn and cheese ice cream. OMg. :-)

Kirk

Hi Jenne - It's pretty mild overall..... and for my palate not very "corn-y". ;o)

foodie

Hey for Sisig you have to try Lisa's in Eastlake and if you like goat you have to try Papaitan!

Kirk

Hi Foodie - Thanks for the rec. I did try Lisa's when they opened and really wasn't impressed, but I'll give it another try.
