Carol

Isn't there a Seafood City in Mira Mesa too?

Ooo, the festival sounds like fun. Thanks for the heads up, Kirk!

hi kirk - yeah, i heard that too! and yes, it used to be an albertson's. it's about time they moved that seafood city to a bigger location. what i hated about the cv location was that the aisles were too narrow to push the carts through and customers would just leave their carts blocking the checkout aisles. annoying. so yay, i'm glad they're moving - it'll be a tiny bit closer to me! ha ha.

i hope that the old SC location turns into Ranch 99! that would be pretty cool. in the 80's, the only asian place down south was woo chee chong but now that is mercado internacional 2000.

it's me again - just went there since we were down in the area. the cashier told me that they new seafood city would be open next year but didn't know exactly "when". she also didn't know what store would replace SC. She didn't know anything about it being ranch 99.

Kirk

Hi Carol - Yes, there's Seafood City in MM. We usually go to the one in National City.

Hi CC - OK, that's interesting..... I guess we'll just have to wait and see about 99 Ranch Market.

Speaking of MM, looks like Chibuagan(sp?) in Vien Hung is being replaced by a Pho shop. Seems like they have a lot of turnover there. I hope the Pho is good.

Oh, and speaking of Korean food fusion, we made brats with kimchee for Memorial Day. Man was that good. No more kraut for us!

Kirk

Hi Jan - I believe it's another outlet of Song Huong opening there.

Johari

The current SC location seems a bit small to become a 99 Ranch. Wouldn't it make more sense for 99 Ranch to settle in the old Kmart property right next to Northgate?

Kirk

Hi Johari - I think we'll just have to see what happens. There are smaller 99 Ranch Markets in California, the one in Gardena comes to mind.
