Ha, it's banh mi time again for mi. I have to pick up a couple to go with our salad tonight, so I might as well pick up extras to help polish off some leftover braunchweiger we have (we made sandwiches with pan de sal and pickled onions earlier this week).

Reading this again, it reminds me of my mother's curious taste for open-faced peanut butter and pickle sandwiches. I never have brought myself around to try that. Perhaps it might just work on a banh mi. ;)

The italian sandwiches were not bad by the way.

Hi Jan - Thanks for reading this again....I'm sure everything will taste great...after all everything tastes better on a Banh Mi! ;o)

Hi, I just happened to run into this post when I search for "Paris Bakery San Diego" and notice that you wrote this back in 2008. Come and try them again, still the same owner, but new way of making bread. New flour, new recipe and they even have the long baguette now.

Hi Johnny - Thanks for the comment. I have been back several times since, and have bought the long style bread. I'm not sure that it's better; but I think it's great that they're making adjustments.
