Awesome, I'm starving now. Braised fish is a staple of mine I have found that the fatty salmon from Costco is very well suited for braising....

The braised fish looks delicious. It's been a really long time since I've had something similar. Thanks for the review. (teehee, Chinese stomach)

HAH, you are too funny! That fish looks really good. My parents were from Shanghai, my Mom makes that veggie dish on a regular basis.

Hi Ed - this place tastes like home! I love that ma lan tou appetizer with the pressed tofu. The green in kind of cilantro-like but is from the aster family? Haven't been able to find it locally though but got some from an aunt.

I went to Shanghai palace at 11pm (they close at 12am) and the waitress said "hurry up and order we close at midnight".

Thanks for the comments. Candice & Liz - yeh, the food tastes like homestyle food, just not the home I grew up in. It was a very enjoyable meal.

OK, clayfu, maybe the waitstaff isn't so friendly by 11 pm, but I have worked in places where we all dreaded someone showing up right at closing.
