Thanks - it's great to learn about places that are just off of my beaten path. Some SD areas seem to get their restaurants reviewed like crazy, while others are virtually ignored by most sources.

Oh, what a sweet thing to say, Trent. That is the purpose of our blogging, you know.

I can never get behind restaurant kara-age, since it's so easy to make at home. Everything else looks great, though.

Actually, CP, we have tried every single appetizer on the menu, and even have made entire meals of only the appetizers...when we went here for this meal, I was more thinking what would photograph well and..well, we weren't ordering anything crunchy to eat...
Sometimes, I 'need' that fried crunchy something...tempura or know...

Nice to see some San Diego based foodie blogs popping up. Not that I don't enjoy reading L.A. and Hawaiian based's so much easier to check on recommendations when you live here.
Reading about Shizuoka was nice, have been there once or twice many moons ago, but what I'm truly interested in is Fix Me A Plate Cafe at the other end of the mall. Any chance of a review there? Thanks for the great reading, keep up the good work!

Hi again, Motes. Thanks for such nice words. I will most likely blog about "Fix Me A Plate" sometime soon. I do eat all kinds of food and write about it. For the most part (since October I have only written about two one-time-only visits) I try to eat at places more than once before blogging about it.

I must say, your story on Vien Dong in Linda Vista was great!! For some reason I thought I was the only one who smelled something a bit different and I am happy that its better now and that I wasn't the only one!!!Love to know where I can have good fresh sushi, too!!!
keep up the good work

Kirk did make a nice post about Vien Dong, didn't he, c? There is a lot of information on this blog and we try to keep it up to date, even though some posts are now more than two years old.
