"Hi! This is Vicky posting about her latest meal. She is extremely honored to be invited by Kirk to blog on mmm-Yoso!"
I'll do a quick short post since Kirk's done a more in depth post on Chopstix Too already. My friends and I have always loved the ramen and crunchy roll at Chopstix. Ever since our days of being poor college freshmen at UCSD, we'd make our weekly trek out there to get the ever so elusive crunchy roll. In fact, my best friend J who moved back up north after we graduated, made a trip to visit me just for a meal at Chopstix. Most weeks, you'd find a bunch of us grubbing here after the gym. I love their combos that are still on "Grand Opening Special." We stopped in earlier this week after running a couple miles at the gym.
I love the Crunch Roll/Salad/Edamame combo. I get to minimize my carbs and still get a really filling meal. H tried out their California/Crunch Rolls. In the past when we came with our friends A and H, they've ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen which is a bowl of ramen with the milky pork bone soup. That was also really good. The soup had depth and a lot of flavor.
Chopstix is out go to place for a bowl of ramen and Chopstix Too is where to go when you can't decide what you want! Where else can you get chicken katsu AND crunchy roll for under $6!
Hi Vicki,
It's true they make a pretty tasty Tonkotsu ramen. My Husband really liked it when we went to chopstix too after we gave up on long lines at chopstix.

The Mister and I just went back the other day; I was surprised the Grand Opening Specials are still going on. Plenty of food: I couldn't finish a thing!

Where is this place? Did I miss the address?

Hi Cathy - Yeah... I had about two pieces of the crunchy roll and the salad and S finished off the edamame and crunchy roll for me. Great deal for the amount of food!
EJ - I didn't take note of the address because Kirk did the original post on it. It's filed under Japanese. It's located in the same shopping center as Mitsuwa, across the street from the In and Out in Kearny Mesa.

4380 Kearny Mesa Road, San Diego 92123 (858) 565-1288. Actually it was a Chopstix Too - Two post: Kirk and I both blogged it on November 14, 2006. All of our old posts are available somewhere on this blog....

Thanks to both of you for the quick responses!

I went there when it 1st opened and noticed that they didn't have the full Chopstix menu available. In particular, they didn't have any udon listed on the menu. I figure that in time they will but they were just starting up this location that week. I really hope so because this location is so much easier to park at and the lines at Chopstix have really increased since Noodle House of Otomoyan closed down some time ago.
