Hi, Cathy here, on an iBook, in an obscure hotel in Las Vegas, with plans for something exciting tomorrow night.
I'm blogging what I ate, and then some...I left San Diego in the wind this morning..and stopped in Baker, to view the World's largest Thermometer (and get a cup of coffee at Starbucks).
Dinner was at "Feast", the buffet inside Green Valley Ranch Casinos Resort and Spa. $17..and worth it. The Buffet was suggested by Mr. brother, hereafter referred to as "Mr. Bally"who, along with a few others, have made some suggestions as to where I should try to eat while here. Mostly photos...limited descriptions for now..I have to take a nap!...and no photo of the crab legs, chilled shrimp or Mongolian BBQ... I don't take photos of people...smoked salmon, giant caperberries, fennel chicken salad...there is a lettuce part of the salad bar also...this was *far* more fun. My salad plate(s)
..the carving station selections, well some of them anyhow...
The Asian food section offered a wide variety of some great tasting food...
Then the Italian section...
That sauce in the back to the left (not the meatballs) was artichokes, mushrooms and olives...and soooooo goood!
The a sample of desserts:
Ah, so what am I doing here???Well, there is this competition...more tomorrow.

On your way back, stop by Baker again and try out The Mad Greek Cafe (if you haven't already). When I used to drive between SD and LV, it always meant a stop there for 1) restroom 2) gyro w/ pita or greek dinner with gyro, souvlaki, etc. (they no longer serve the meatball (kefti?) so I now just order the gyro) 3) BEST strawberry shake - it's all natural homemade! 4) pistachio baklava!! YUMMMY!
Oh.. and they serve mexican food! Have fun in Las Vegas! There's an amazing all-u-can-eat crablegs at Hushpuppies on Monday?? nights!

I was in LV last week and had very good meals at Lotus of Siam, Bouchon and Picasso. Looking forward to read what you tried.

Hi nhbilly, it was...its that I have this problem with cutting/using two hands...
Hello illtaketwoplease-be patient, you'll see, although I didn't see the baklava at breakfast this morning....and, um, Monday night was the reason my Friend and I went to Vegas...
Hey Honkman....well, um, we did go places and I will blog, but it was kind of a Girls Weekend and, well, when you see why we were in Vegas, you may understand why we didn't do much "fancy" stuff...although we did enjoy some superb food. When I go again with The Mister, I will be trying Lotus of Siam, definitely.
