Hi ExtraMSG - First off thanks for all the useful info on ExtraMSG.com:

http://www.extramsg.com/

I tend to think that salmon is so very pedestrian - but I'll make sure to try it next time. The Aji was good - though I wish they had Aji Sashimi, where you get the fillets as sashimi, then are served the bones (senbei). I had wanted to try Izakaya Syun, but it seemed out ofthe way for me.
About that mention of Powell's Cookbook and Gardening Store - I think you just gave me another reason to return.

Hi Leonardo - I guess I'm too set in my SoCal ways....a little rain just screws us up! I'll make sure to visit the next time, and this time the Missus will be along - so we'll probably spend the whole day at Washington Park.

I kid you not about going to the Garden on a rainy day!
I don't think Syun Izakaya is worth the trip. Do it only if you're taking a swing through wine country, west on the way to Momokawa Sake in Forest Grove, then south on Hwy 47 to Yamhill county.

Hi Leonardo - Thanks for the info!

geoduck

I love eating gooey ducks. My mother loves to make it with rice, tastes great! Though I do think you have to get used to the texture.

Geoducks are prized foods in food markets worldwide and are a highly valued fishery for the state (Puget Sound) , estimated at $40 million annually.

Check out geoduck for info.

Geoduck Clam

Indeed. Geoducks get my vote for best in show. I especially like this geoduck recipe. http://geoduckrecipes.com/recipes/geoduck-risotto.html
My wife's creation :)
