Hi Clare - It means a feeling of surperiority, maybe it's in "Pidgin to the Max Hana Hou"(part 2 of Pidgin to the max). You are so funny! But I must say that the funniest use of pidgen on this site has been by Rachel, who asked me about, "chiisai chimpo":

I still can't read that comment without cracking up! LOL!

YUUUUUUMMY!! My favorite place for Thai food ever!! The Thai Temple was a place I visited weekly when I lived in Burbank. I didn't realize how lucky I was having access access to all that good food until I moved away. I was just there this past weekend and--MAN, was I in heaven or what? Great pics!! My mouth is oh so drooling...

Kirk

Hi Daly - Welcome and thanks for dropping by! I'm glad you enjoyed the photos. There are restaurants that I miss in LA as well, we lived in the SGV, and man, the Chinese Food was great. And you were able to visit Wat Thai every weekend? I'd say you were very lucky.

Jimmy

I have been wanting to go to this for a while, and Im finally going this weekend. I cant wait, and now I have an idea of what I want to try out. ;)

Kirk

Hi Jimmy - I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself! There's much more than you see here. Have fun.

Joe

I know there is a Thai temple in san diego somewhere with lots of food! Anyone know where and when the events are???

Kirk

Hi Joe - There is a Wat Thia Temple in Escondido, they do not have a food court like the Hollywood Wat Thai, but I do know that they celebrate Songkran, the Thai New Year, so you may want to check them out around then.

Catherine

Hi! And thank you so much for posting this. A girlfriend linked me to this post. I had no idea Wat Thai Temple & its food court existed! Now, I wonder how many other secrets LA has to offer...

Kirk

Hi Catherine - Welcome, and thanks for commenting! I hope you get a chance to visit Wat Thai soon. LA has many wonderful and vibrant neighborhoods, destinations, and events. There's always something to do or eat! Love your food blog, BTW!

Hey Kirk,

The block of spam-like meat that you ate is called "nem." It is pork grounded to a paste and stuffed with vermicelli, thinly sliced steamed pork skins, garlic cloves, and seasoned with salt. It is a Vietnamese cuisine (central Vietnam).
