Mike V.

Hey, I have two tips for good Mexican on the cheap if you are in the area of Rolando/La Mesa and the other over in Linda Vista.
Get over to El Rodeo just west of 70th street on El Cajon Blvd.
We live over in the College area and drive east to eat there quite a bit on weekends.
The carnitas tacos are a freaking bargain at 2 bucks!
The plate dinners are cheap and usually really good.
For the average person, the burritos are just about enough to share.
Give it a shot.
JV's taco shop in Linda Vista is AWESOME!
I get two carnitas tacos and they are just as good if not better than El Rodeo's.
They are at 1112 Morena Blvd.
Good eats!

Hi Mike - Thanks for the rec's - funny thing, we used to go to JV's alot when we lived near by in Mission Valley. I'd forgotten all about it - though that parking lot can be a "beast" during lunch - come to think of it, I haven't been to Andre's in a while, hmmmm.

I googled to get the number to call my order in and got your blog.....I work at UCSD we luv it!!!!

Hi Dee - Thanks for visiting and commenting. Sure beats the Bean Shack and the Cafeteria, doesn't it?

El Cuervo always does right by me. I had them cater a B-Day party for 70 people. The food was brought in 'piping hot', the condiments were fresh and the cost was even better. Richard @ ElCuervo priced the catering event very reasonably and all at the party raved about the food. El Cuervo, your the BOMB!

Hi Brian - Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I think you hit it right on the head - decent food, very reasonably priced.
